May 20, 2008I was inspired to write this article after a discovering coaching sessions provided by 3r sales and marketing. I was looking for a new way of approaching the customer because those I had learned from old-school sales “gurus” appeared to me no that interesting and up-dated.
You know who I am talking about, I am sure! You may even have some of their books or tapes. And you know their sales messages too classic: “Always be closing,” “Think positive, and you’ll overcome all your fears,” etc…
But all these sales messages fail to meet the client requirement. And unless you understand that you have to focus on client’s need and not on what you can sell to him, you will go on struggling with the same counterproductive sales behaviours. In conclusion you will go on experiencing the same difficulties and frustrations. And you will continue to believe that you’re always just one new sales technique away from the breakthrough we’re looking for.
